Tuckerton is a small Ocean County borough of about 3,600 people, located 20 miles northwest of Atlantic City along the Mullica River. Most visitors arrive via US Route 9 or take the Garden State Parkway to Exit 58, then Route 539 west. Atlantic City International Airport is 25 miles southeast. The town sits where the Pine Barrens meet the coastal plain, with easy access to Bass River State Forest and Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge. The Tuckerton Seaport Museum features a working decoy carving shop where artisans demonstrate traditional hunting decoy crafting techniques.
