Tryon is a small mountain town in western North Carolina's foothills, about 25 miles from Asheville via US 74. The main routes include US 74 from Charlotte or Asheville, I-26 to NC 108, and US 176 from South Carolina. Known for its mild "thermal belt" climate and equestrian culture, Tryon has exactly three traffic lights on its main drag.
