Troutman is a lakeside town in north-central North Carolina, about 35 miles north of Charlotte on Lake Norman's shores. Take I-77 to Exit 42 and follow NC-115 into town. The area draws weekend visitors from Charlotte and South Carolina for boating and fishing, while locals use NC-115 to reach nearby Mooresville and Statesville. The town's centerpiece is a restored 1906 Southern Railway depot that now houses the visitor center.
