Triplett is a tiny farming community in north-central Missouri's Chariton County, about 15 miles southeast of Chillicothe via US Highway 36. The town sits in rolling prairie country where corn and soybean fields dominate the landscape. Most visitors arrive on Highway 36, the main east-west route between Hannibal and Kansas City, then turn south on local roads. Despite having fewer than 40 residents, Triplett maintains its official city status as one of Missouri's smallest incorporated municipalities.
