Trinidad sits along Interstate 25 in southern Colorado, about 200 miles south of Denver near the New Mexico border. The city serves as a key junction where US Highway 160 meets I-25, connecting the Front Range to the Southwest and providing access to the San Juan Mountains. Popular routes include the drive north to Colorado Springs, west through mountain passes to Durango, and south to Santa Fe. The downtown district contains over 400 Victorian buildings on the National Register, creating the largest collection of 1800s architecture in Colorado.
