Trenton is a tiny county seat in eastern North Carolina, home to just over 300 people but serving as Jones County's government center. Located along US Highway 58, it's about 45 miles southeast of Kinston and 35 miles northwest of New Bern. Most visitors arrive via US 58 from Interstate 40 or connect from US 17 along the coast. The 1907 courthouse remains the town's most notable landmark and oldest continuously operating courthouse in the county.
