Trempealeau is a Mississippi River town of 1,800 people in western Wisconsin, about 20 miles north of La Crosse via scenic Highway 35. Long-distance visitors typically drive from Minneapolis (2.5 hours) or use La Crosse Regional Airport 25 miles away. The area features dramatic river bluffs and Trempealeau Mountain. Perrot State Park contains ancient Native American burial mounds over 1,000 years old.
