Traer is a farming town of 1,500 people in central Iowa, connected by Highway 8 east-west and Highway 21 north-south. It's about 35 miles from Cedar Falls and 20 miles north of Marshalltown, with Interstate 35 accessible 45 miles west. The town's century-old Opera House still hosts community events today.
