Topsail Beach is a small barrier island town in southeastern North Carolina, accessible via two bridge routes from the mainland. Take US-17 to NC-210 from Wilmington (20 miles south) or NC-50 from Hampstead to the north. The town swells from 400 year-round residents to thousands during summer beach season. Look for the concrete missile testing towers from the 1940s Navy program that named the island.
