Topeka is a tiny unincorporated community in central Illinois along Route 97, sitting between Springfield (25 miles southwest) and Pekin (15 miles northwest). Most visitors reach it via I-55 to Springfield, then Route 97 north, or from Peoria via Route 29 south to Route 97. The Sangamon River flows just west of town, creating a small valley that breaks up the endless flat prairie landscape.
