Tontogany is a small Ohio farming community of 343 people in Wood County, about 30 miles from Toledo. Take I-75 to Exit 179 at Bowling Green, then follow Route 199 west for eight miles. The village sits on flat farmland where corn and soybeans grow between woodlots. The name comes from a Wyandot word meaning "dog ears," describing a distinctive bend in the nearby Portage River.
