Tomball lies 30 miles northwest of Houston via Highway 249, making it a popular bedroom community for commuters. The city connects easily to Houston's northwest suburbs and the Energy Corridor through State Highway 249 and FM 2920. David Wayne Hooks Memorial Airport serves the area just northeast of town. The original 1906 railroad depot still operates as a museum on Main Street downtown.
