Tiskilwa is a small farming town in Bureau County, about 100 miles southwest of Chicago near the Illinois River. Take I-80 to Exit 73, then Route 26 north for 8 miles. The town sits on rolling prairie between river bottomlands and farm country, with Route 26 as the main corridor connecting to Princeton 12 miles north. The name comes from a Potawatomi word meaning "where we killed the deer."
