Tipton is a small farming town in central Missouri, about 30 miles southeast of Columbia on Highway 50. The 1858 limestone courthouse still serves as the county seat and dominates the town square. Most visitors arrive via Highway 50 from Columbia or Jefferson City, with Highway 5 providing north-south access toward Lake of the Ozarks.
