Tipton is a farming town 25 miles north of Indianapolis on US Highway 31, serving as the county seat for surrounding agricultural communities. Most visitors take US 31 from Indianapolis (30 minutes) or connect via State Road 28 from I-65 near Lebanon. The 1894 courthouse with its working clock tower anchors the historic town square.
