Tightwad is a tiny Missouri community along State Route 7 in Henry County, about 75 miles southeast of Kansas City. Most visitors drive US-50 west from KC, then south on Route 7 for about 10 miles. The area sits in rolling farmland typical of western Missouri. The town got its quirky name from an early 1900s store owner known for being tight with credit.
