Tickfaw is a small Louisiana town in Tangipahoa Parish, about 50 miles north of New Orleans via I-55 Exit 32. Most visitors use Highway 442 to reach the town center, with connections to Hammond and Ponchatoula on local roads. The area features typical southeastern Louisiana terrain of pine forests and waterways. Tickfaw State Park preserves 1,200 acres of swamp and upland forest along the Tickfaw River.
