Thurston is a tiny county seat in northeastern Nebraska, about 20 miles south of Sioux City via Highway 75 and local roads. Despite having only 100 residents, it houses the historic 1889 Thurston County Courthouse, a striking red brick Victorian building that serves as the town's centerpiece.
