Thurmond is a tiny former railroad town deep in West Virginia's New River Gorge, reached via winding Route 25 from Beckley or Route 60 from Lewisburg. Most visitors come for the national park, but should charge EVs in larger towns first since local infrastructure is nonexistent. The historic train depot still sees active coal trains rumbling past multiple times daily.
