Thrall is a small farming town of about 860 people in eastern Williamson County, roughly 35 miles northeast of Austin via US 290 and Highway 95. The most common routes include Highway 95 north to Taylor or south toward Manor, plus Highway 29 for east-west travel. The old MKT Railroad depot still stands downtown as a reminder of the town's 1870s railway origins.
