Thornton is a small Arkansas town on US Highway 167, about 30 miles south of Camden in Calhoun County's pine hill country. Highway 167 connects north to Camden and El Dorado, while State Highway 4 runs east-west through town. Most visitors arrive from Camden or Interstate 20 in Louisiana. The old Missouri Pacific railroad depot still stands near the highway.
