Thor is a tiny farming community in north-central Iowa with just 257 residents. Highway 169 runs right through town, connecting it to Fort Dodge (25 miles southeast) and other regional destinations. Most visitors come from nearby Humboldt County towns on short trips through the agricultural countryside. The town's claim to fame is its Norse mythology name - it's named after the god of thunder.
