Thomasville is a furniture manufacturing hub in central North Carolina, 20 miles south of Winston-Salem via US-29. The main route from Charlotte takes I-85 north to US-29 north through several small towns. Regional visitors often drive the furniture shopping circuit between Thomasville, High Point, and Lexington. The city's claim to fame is a giant 30-foot Duncan Phyfe chair standing downtown on Main Street.
