Thomas is a mountain town of 599 people in Tucker County, West Virginia, sitting at 3,100 feet elevation in the Allegheny Mountains. US Route 219 runs directly through town, connecting north to Deep Creek Lake, Maryland (30 miles) and south to Elkins (40 miles). State Route 32 heads east toward Davis and Canaan Valley. The Purple Fiddle music venue operates in a restored 1920s movie theater.
