Thedford is a tiny Sandhills town of 225 people that serves as the Thomas County seat. Highway 2 runs east-west through town, while Highway 83 provides north-south access through the rolling grasslands. Most visitors come from Broken Bow (45 miles southeast) or North Platte (60 miles south). The 1925 red brick courthouse dominates the prairie skyline, visible for miles across the open rangeland.
