Teutopolis is a small farming town in east-central Illinois, just off I-70 about 12 miles from Effingham. Most visitors take Exit 82 to Highway 40, which runs right through town. The area's German heritage shows everywhere, especially at St. Francis Catholic Church with its stunning hand-carved wooden altar shipped from Germany.
