Tetherow is a small high desert community of about 765 people located 10 miles southwest of Bend via Century Drive. Visitors typically reach it from US Highway 97, with Portland about 160 miles northwest and Eugene 100 miles southwest. The area sits at 3,600 feet elevation among ponderosa pines with views of the Cascades. Its main attraction is an 18-hole championship golf course designed by David McLay Kidd that incorporates natural lava rock formations.
