Teachey is a tiny railroad town in southeastern North Carolina, about an hour northeast of Wilmington via US 117. The main route follows US 117 north from Wilmington through rural farmland, while drivers from Raleigh take I-40 east to US 117 south. Despite having just over 400 residents, Teachey sits at the crossing of two major Norfolk Southern Railway lines, creating an unexpectedly busy rail junction in the middle of farm country.
