Taylor is a tiny Wyoming community of 76 people in Lincoln County's Bear River valley. US Highway 30 runs right through town, connecting to Kemmerer 15 miles east and continuing toward Idaho. Most visitors arrive via I-80 from Evanston, about 45 miles south, often en route to Jackson Hole or Yellowstone. The town sits at 6,200 feet in high desert country with cold, snowy winters and warm, dry summers. You can still spot remnants of the original Oregon Short Line railroad grade that established Taylor in the early 1900s.
