Taylor sits in eastern Arizona's high country at 5,500 feet, where four-season weather and juniper-dotted hills replace the typical desert landscape. US Highway 60 runs right through town, connecting to Show Low (15 miles west) and Springerville (30 miles east), while State Route 77 heads north to Holbrook and I-40. Founded in 1878 by Mormon pioneers, the town still has working ranches scattered throughout the surrounding valleys.
