Taunton is a tiny farming town of 128 people in southwestern Minnesota's Lyon County. Highway 23 runs right through town, connecting to larger roads via Marshall about 15 miles northeast. The area is classic Minnesota prairie country with corn and soybean fields stretching in all directions. The town's grain elevator stands tall above the flat landscape, visible for miles around.
