Tarnov is a tiny farming community of 27 people in central Nebraska's Platte County, about 15 miles southwest of Columbus via Highway 30 and county roads. Surrounded by corn and soybean fields along the Loup River valley, it's mainly visited by hunters, anglers, and those with family connections to the area. The community's 1885 one-room schoolhouse still stands as a piece of pioneer history.
