Tangent sits on US Highway 20 in Oregon's Willamette Valley, about 10 miles east of Corvallis. This farming community of 1,300 connects to Interstate 5 via Albany and serves as a gateway to Cascade recreation areas. The town got its name from a railroad survey point where tracks straightened out after following the winding Calapooia River.
