Tampa is a tiny farming community in central Kansas, home to about 200 people in Marion County. Drive US Highway 56 to reach it from either McPherson (45 miles southwest) or from Wichita via I-135 north to McPherson. The town sits in classic Flint Hills prairie country with rolling grasslands stretching in all directions. Tampa's preserved one-room schoolhouse still stands as a testament to its pioneer educational roots.
