Syracuse is a small Ohio River town of about 600 people in Meigs County, reached via scenic State Route 124. The main route from Columbus takes US 33 southeast to Athens, then Route 329 south to Route 124. Local traffic uses Route 124 for commutes to nearby Pomeroy and Gallipolis. The town sits directly across from West Virginia, connected by the 1930 Letart Falls Bridge.
