Sylvania is a small mountain town in northeast Alabama, home to about 1,900 people in the Appalachian foothills. State Route 75 runs right through the center, connecting to Fort Payne (12 miles north) and Albertville (15 miles south). Most long-distance visitors come via I-59 or US-431, while locals use the county roads for daily trips. The restored 1920s bank building downtown serves as the town's historical society and community hub.
