Sylacauga lies 50 miles southeast of Birmingham along US Highway 280, Alabama's main east-west route through the region. Most visitors arrive via this highway, which connects directly to Birmingham and continues toward the Georgia border. The city serves as a regional hub for Talladega County, with several EV charging stations available along the US 280 corridor. Sylacauga sits atop one of the world's largest marble deposits and still operates the massive Gantt's Quarry that provided marble for the Lincoln Memorial.
