Sycamore is a tiny South Carolina community of 68 people in Allendale County, about 90 miles southwest of Columbia. US Highway 301 and State Route 3 intersect here, connecting the area to Allendale and Denmark. The town was named for the sycamore trees that originally lined the local waterways before pine plantations took over.
