Switz City is a tiny Greene County community of about 300 people in southwestern Indiana's farm country. Take State Road 54 west from Bloomfield or east from the Illinois border to reach town. Most visitors arrive via SR-37 south from Indianapolis to Bloomfield, then follow SR-54 west about 10 miles through rolling hills and farmland. The town's name honors the Swiss settlers who founded it in the 1800s.
