Swisher is a small farming town of about 1,200 people in Johnson County, Iowa, located 15 miles northwest of Iowa City via Highway 1. The town sits on rolling prairie land with rich agricultural soils. Most visitors arrive from Iowa City or Cedar Rapids using Highway 1, while Interstate 80 provides long-distance access about 10 miles south. The original 1899 railroad depot still stands downtown, now serving as the community center.
