Sweetwater is a tiny farming town of about 100 people in western Oklahoma's Beckham County, reached via US Highway 283 from Sayre (15 miles north) or from Texas communities to the south. State Highway 152 provides east-west access through the rolling plains landscape. Most visitors pass through on longer regional trips rather than daily commutes. The town still operates a one-room schoolhouse serving local students.
