Swanton is a farming community in northwest Ohio, about 20 miles from Toledo via State Route 2. The town connects to I-280 and the Ohio Turnpike for longer trips, while Route 109 heads south toward Napoleon. Most traffic involves commutes to Toledo or trips between rural communities. The old railroad depot now houses the town library.
