Suttons Bay is a small lakefront village on Grand Traverse Bay, about 15 miles north of Traverse City on scenic M-22. Most visitors drive up from Traverse City through cherry orchard country, while long-distance travelers connect via US-31 or I-75 to M-72. The village sits in Michigan's wine and cherry region, with the bay providing a natural harbor. Commercial fishing boats still work from the marina, hauling in whitefish and lake trout just like they have for over a century.
