Surfside is a small oceanfront town squeezed between Miami Beach and Bal Harbour on a barrier island. Take I-95 to the Julia Tuttle Causeway, then head east to Collins Avenue, which runs right through town. Miami International Airport is about 30 minutes away. The town gained worldwide attention in 2021 when the Champlain Towers South condominium collapsed, prompting major changes to Florida's building safety laws.
