Surfside Beach is a quiet coastal town just south of Myrtle Beach, accessible via US Highway 17 Business. Most visitors drive US 17 along the coast or take Highway 544 from Conway. The town sits on a barrier island with ocean beaches and salt marshes. Myrtle Beach International Airport is about 15 miles north. The historic Surfside Pier stretches 829 feet into the Atlantic and has been a fishing destination since 1953.
