Superior is a tiny Wyoming mining town of 177 people in Sweetwater County, accessible via US Highway 191 about 12 miles northwest of Rock Springs and Interstate 80. Most residents make regular trips to Rock Springs for services, while the area's 6,400-foot elevation brings harsh winters and dry summers. The town's historic coal tipple, a massive wooden loading structure from the early 1900s, still dominates the landscape.
