Sunflower is a small Delta farming town along Highway 49W, about 60 miles north of Jackson and 15 miles from Indianola. The area is classic Mississippi Delta territory with endless flat cotton fields and straight rural highways. The painted water tower serves as a landmark visible for miles across the flat farmland.
