Sundown is a small farming town in West Texas, about 40 miles southwest of Lubbock via US 62 and US 385. The town sits in flat cotton country typical of the South Plains region. Most traffic consists of local agricultural routes between Sundown, Levelland, and surrounding rural areas. The annual Old Settlers Reunion each August has been drawing regional visitors since 1936 with rodeo events and traditional barbecue.
