Sumner is a small Delta town of about 300 people in Tallahatchie County, connected by Highway 49W about 90 miles south of Memphis. The area features typical Delta farmland with cotton fields and humid subtropical weather. Most visitors arrive via Highway 49W from Memphis or other Delta communities, though EV charging is limited in this rural area. The town's courthouse hosted the infamous 1955 Emmett Till trial, a landmark moment in civil rights history.
