Summit Hill is a small mountain town in Carbon County, Pennsylvania, sitting at 1,400 feet in the Pocono foothills. Route 209 provides the main access from Jim Thorpe to the north and Allentown to the south, while Route 309 connects through Tamaqua. The town operated America's second-oldest railroad starting in 1827, using gravity to haul coal downhill and mules for the return trip.
